Turbulence.org commissions emerging and established artists who explore the creative potential of the Internet using
existing technologies and/or developing new applications to originate innovative, interdisciplinary work.

Since its inception in 1996, Turbulence has commissioned, exhibited and archived over 80 original works, and hosted over 20 multilocation performance events. In 2004, it launched it's networked_performance blog; and beginning January 25th, will run The Upgrade! Boston, a monthly meeting for new media artists and curators.
